Rules for using ChatApp. Effective May 19, 2026  ·  Version 1.0

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ChatApp application (website, web version, or Android/iOS app), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the App.


Eligibility & Account Registration

Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by the laws of your country) to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Account Creation

To access the full features of the App, you must register with accurate and complete information, including:

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and MPIN. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized account use.

Profile Information

You may customize your profile with a display name, bio, and photo. You agree not to impersonate any person or entity without authorization.


Use of Service

You agree to use ChatApp only for lawful purposes and not to misuse, damage, or interrupt the service. You must not:


Messaging & Content

ChatApp provides real-time messaging between registered users. You may send text, images, videos, voice notes, and other media. All content you share must not:

You retain ownership of the content you create. By sharing it via the App, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to transmit and display it solely for operating the service.


Reporting Offensive Content

The App includes a built-in reporting mechanism to flag content or users that violate these Terms. Reports may include a title, description, and optional supporting image.

⚠️ Submitting false or malicious reports is a violation of these Terms and may result in action being taken against your own account.

Audio Calls

The App enables voice/audio calling between users via internet connectivity, requiring microphone access on your device.

Call Recording

Recording calls without the explicit consent of all parties is strictly prohibited and may violate applicable laws. The App does not record calls on its servers.

Acceptable Use

You must not use calls to harass, threaten, or intimidate other users. Abusive behaviour during calls may be reported and is subject to moderation action.


Contacts — Sharing & Blocking

Contact Access

The App may request access to your device contact list to help you find other ChatApp users. We access contacts only for this matching purpose and do not sell contact data to third parties.

Sharing Contacts

You may share another user's profile within the App. By doing so, you confirm you have that person's implied or explicit consent to share their details.

Blocking

You may block any user at any time. Blocked users cannot send you messages, initiate calls, or view your profile. For serious safety concerns, also submit a formal report.

💡 Blocking is a user-level control. For serious safety concerns, we recommend also submitting a formal report.

Inviting Contacts

You may invite contacts not yet on ChatApp via SMS, email, or other supported channels. Do not send unsolicited or bulk invitations — abusing the invite feature may result in account suspension.

We are not responsible for the actions of users you invite. Each user is independently responsible for complying with these Terms upon joining.

The App requests the following permissions to deliver its full feature set. All permissions are requested at runtime and may be revoked at any time through your device settings.

Privacy & Data

We collect information you provide directly (profile data, messages, reports) and data generated by your use of the App (call logs, device identifiers, connection data).

Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Your MPIN is never stored in plain text. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.

Data Retention

Messages are stored only as long as necessary to deliver the service. Deleted accounts have associated data removed within 30 days, except where legal obligations require longer retention.


Content

Information provided on ChatApp is for communication and access purposes. We may update content, features, and policies at any time. All rights, title, and interest in the App — including its design, logo, and software — are owned by or licensed to ChatApp. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of the App without prior written consent.


Limitation of Liability

ChatApp is not responsible for losses caused by service interruption, user error, or third-party service issues. The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChatApp shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.


Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through App settings.

Upon termination, your license to use the App ceases immediately and data will be removed per our retention policy.


Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date and notify you via in-app notification or your registered contact.

📌 Continued use of ChatApp after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App operator is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
